Science and Sphere Shows
These shows are specially arranged for organised school group having more than 100 students.
An exhibition that provides hands on experience for exploring the scientific principles. Some of the attractive exhibits are Floor piano, Coriolis Force, Plasma Globe, Mirror Maze, Dropping coins, Diamond is forever, Positive shadow, See Your Back, Resonance, Pin Screen etc.
Throughout the history, people have imagined and then created new things to make their lives better, easier, and more enjoyable. From the wheel to penicillin to computer, inventions continue to change the way we live. Inventions changed the world. These are need driven and sometimes accidental. They create a domino effect spawning other essential inventions in their wake.
The gallery on Invention is an effort to bring these inventions live & understandable to common man in general & students in particular. The exhibition on invention having a wide range of exhibits explaining the fundamental scientific principles involved in inventing in a vivid and easily understandable manner using presentation techniques like interactive exhibits & display panels.
The exhibition comprises of exhibits on various aspects of fundamental science like what is a matter made of? How radio works? How steam engine works? How sound is recorded, Etc.
Water: The Elixir of Life
Our Earth is unique because it is the only known place in the universe where water exists as a liquid thus enabling life in all its diversity to thrive here. When human population was small their effect on the planet and its water bodies was also manageable. But over the past century, it has exploded thus creating an adverse impact both on quality and quantity of potable water. Human impact has resulted in growth of sprawling cities and towns which pollute our rivers with increasing amounts of waste and threaten our water systems as we squander this precious resource. This exhibition on Water – The Elixir of Life, is aimed at creating awareness about this scarce and all important source of life among the visitors specially the children.
The gallery unfolds with a plethora of exhibits that cover various issues related to water. How much of it is available on our planet and what percentage of it is potable and in what form is water available on the Earth are some of the issues that are dealt with in the exhibition. Other issues like the water cycle, water on different continents, water in ones body, water conservation, water treatment plants, properties of water, cultural and religious practices and their impact on our rivers etc are also covered in the exhibitions. The exhibition ends with a computer quiz on water and a pledge which the visitors can take to conserve water and protect this unique life supporting source for our future generations.
Exhibit on water efficient devices helps the visitor understand how we can conserve water as well as avoid wastage of water using intelligent planning, management and use of conservation devices. Water saved is water produced.
A large Science Park, sprawling over 6 acres of lush green beautiful landscape provides the visitors with an opportunity to relax in colourful surroundings, away from the hustle & bustle of the city life and allows the children to play with an array of outdoor exhibits on physical science. Pet animal cages, aviaries and Medicinal Plant Garden also enrich the environment. It is a lifetime experience of learning while playing in an open yard.
Pre-historic Animal Park
This is a 3-dimensional exposition that enthralls the visitors by taking back to pre-historic era in which different species of animals lived in the sea as well as on the land about 500 to 10,000 million years ago. During day time it is open for students but in the evening a light & sound show is also organized. It is built over an area of 2 acres and first of its kind in the central India.
3-D Science Show -
With this unique facility one can experience viewing of 3-D films using a stereo projection system and specially aligned polarized spectacles. The objects on the screen will almost tickle your nose or animals leaping from the screen onto your lap will make you jump off the chair. Whatever be the scene on the screen you are sure to get excited.
The Science of astronomy emerged as a result of intense study of sky by mankind. With the progress of civilization newer and better than ever instruments were developed for astronomical observations which intensified star gazing and widened human knowledge on celestial bodies. The planetarium is equipped with state-of-the-art full dome digital video projection system in combination with opto-mechanical projector is surely to take people to journey in the sky with immersive effect.
Currently Showing: From Earth to Universe: A 35 minute show projecting dynamic story of night sky, zodiac constellation, perceptions about Universe, Moon, Earth, Jupiter and Saturn, the Milky Way and extra galactic space. The show looks back on historical discoveries and also imparts the present state of knowledge about the structure of the solar system & universe.
The show Timings: 12.00, 01.00 PM, 02.00 PM, 03.00 PM, 4.00 PM, 5.00 PM. Special shows arranged for the school group with more than 100 students. Ticket Rate: Rs. 50/-
Science on A Sphere Show:
Science on a Sphere (SOS) is a spherical projection system that presents high-resolution video on a suspended globe rather than a flat screen, with the aim of better representing global phenomena. Animated images of atmospheric storms, climate change, and ocean temperature are shown on the sphere to explain these complex environmental processes.
The shows are conducted every day at 12.00, 1.00, 2.00 3.00, 4.00, 5.00 pm
