Information & Communication Technology:
This gallery will take you to the wonderful journey of Information
and Communication Technology starting from cave paintings to the modern
world of Internet. As you walk through the gallery you will come across
the exhibits like Digital Corridor, Virtual Reality, Global Positioning
System etc. This Gallery uses various intelligent systems such as mobile
handsets, computers, internet, communication satellites, optical
fibers, laser gadgets and other image processing gadgets such as a
Computer Tomography machine etc. as a mode of edutainment. This Gallery
is a just a glimpse of how information communication technologies have
shrunk our world to a global village. (Photo)
the history, people have imagined and then created new things to make
their lives better, easier, and more enjoyable. From the wheel to
penicillin to computer, inventions continue to change the way we live.
Inventions changed the world. These are need driven and some times
accidental. They create a domino effect spawning other essential
inventions in their wake.
The gallery on Invention is an effort to
bring these inventions live & understandable to common man in
general & students in particular. The exhibition on invention having
a wide range of exhibits explaining the fundamental scientific
principles involved in inventing in a vivid and easily understandable
manner using presentation techniques like interactive exhibits &
The exhibition comprises of exhibits on various
aspects of fundamental science like what is a matter made of? How radio
works? How steam engine works? How sound is recorded? Etc.(Photo)
exhibition that provides hands on experience for exploring the
scientific principles. Some of the attractive exhibits are Floor piano,
Virtual Book, Visible effect of Invisible, Coriolis Force, Is It a Drop
or Flow of water, Plasma Globe, Giant Soap Bubble, Spiral Musical Tubes,
Reading in Dot Matrix Way, Mirror Maze, Dropping coins, Diamond is for
ever, Positive shadow, See Your Back, Resonance etc. (Photo)
large Science Park, sprawling over 6 acres of lush green beautiful
landscape provides the visitors with an opportunity to relax in
colourful surroundings, away from the hustle & bustle of the city
life and allows the children to play with an array of outdoor exhibits
on physical science. Pet animal cages, aviaries and Medicinal Plant
Garden also enrich the environment. It is a lifetime experience of
learning while playing in an open yard. (Photo)
Pre-historic Animal Park
is a 3 dimensional multimedia exposition that enthralls the visitors by
taking back to pre-historic era in which different species of animals
lived in the sea as well as on the land about 500 to 10,000 million
years ago. During day time it is open for students but in the evening a
light & sound show is also organized. It is built over an area of 2
acres and first of its kind in the central India. (Photo)
3-D Science Show -
this unique facility one can experience viewing of 3-D films using a
stereo projection system and specially aligned polarized spectacles with
5.1 Dolby Digital sound system . The fang of snake, stone pelted by
monkeys on the screen will almost tickle your nose or water bubbles
leaping from the screen will make you jump off the chair. Whatever be
the scene on the screen you are sure to get excited.
Science of astronomy emerged as a result of intense study of sky by man
kind. With the progress of civilization newer and better than ever
instruments were developed for astronomical observations which
intensified star gazing and widened human knowledge on celestial bodies.
as an instrument which educated the man about the objects of the sky,
their nature and their relative movement by simulating the night sky of a
particular place at a particular date & time of the year. In the
planetarium the night sky is projected from a highly sophisticated and
intricately complex instrument from the centre of hemispherical dome
under which the visitors sit surrounding the projector. This gives the
visitors the feeling of being a part of a place the sky of which has
been simulated over their eyes. One can identify some well known stars
and constellations like Pole Star, Great Bear, Sirius, Orion etc.
Different programmes are launched from time to time to give more and
more information about the mystic sky.
Mobile Science Exhibition:
The unit travels extensively in rural areas to hold Science Exhibition.
Science Demonstration Lecture:
Lectures are arranged on demand for the organised group .
Sky Observation Programme:
& SATURDAY visitors can observe the planets, Stars & other deep
sky objects with the help of telescope after sunset. (Subject to clear
Science On A Sphere Show:
The Centre has installed a new facility Science On a Sphere (SOS) on 07th March 2018. SOS
is a spherical projection system created by NOAA. It presents
high-resolution video on a suspended globe rather than a flat screen,
with the aim of better representing global phenomena, animated images of
atmospheric storms, climate change, and ocean temperature which can be
shown on the sphere to explain these complex environmental processes.
uses many readily available hardware and software components combined
into an innovative format to create datasets which present one
particular aspect of the Earth or any spherical orb. The screen is
inert; it neither moves, nor has any electronic parts. Surrounding the
screen are four video projectors, positioned at ninety degree increments
around the screen.
shows of SOS are conducted for the visitors of Raman Science Centre.
Timing : After every one hour starting from 12.30 pm. Last Show is at
5.30 pm. Fees Rs. 25/- for general Visitors. Concessional Fees for a
group of students from school: Rs. 15/-
Innovation Centre is functioning fully now after its
inauguration in the month of February 2017. The student members of the
innovation centre are busy with various innovative projects, they are
able to bring their innovative ideas into reality under the guidance of
Mentors. Students can become members of the centre.
